MAINTENANCE and REPAIR

I do recommend an annual check-up of all instruments, even those I have made. New instruments will change as they get played and necessary adjustments, often new a bridge and sound post are needed after the first year of active use. Older instruments can have barely visible cracks, loose joints, seam openings and deformations which all need a professional hand to be taken care of.

STANDARD and TONAL ADJUSTMENTS

This involves slight modifications of the sound post and bridge position to improve the instrument’s response. Sometimes standard adjustments are not enough and some cases it is necessary to make a new sound post or cut a new bridge, or even working on the tailpiece or tail gut or on the pegs.

BOW REHAIRING

I also offer bow re-hairing beyond instrument making and repairs. For any musician having a fresh hair with good grip is necessary for great tone. Keeping the bow clean of rosin dust is also important. My bow re-hair service includes cleaning the bow and renewing the French Polish. And changing the leather lapping, if it is necessary, can also be done.
